Tennessee Coalmont OHV 8/22/26

Not saying you should venture off the Coalmont property but if you do.......
Here is a fun little waterfall to climb and not too far off the property.

Also, here is the start of a great rock crawling trail called Sherwin Williams (because you are going to leave some paint). The trail is hard to find but goes up the creek just below the rock gatherers road.

Here is a link to trails we ran the last time I was there which included Coalmont, Sherwin Williams, WaterFall and then back through Coalmont.

Here is the cave and the flat rock area. But I think you need to get a permit from the Appalachian Conservatory to go down this far now a days.

Wish I was able to join along, I am going stir crazy sitting at the house while I am on the mend after my mt bike crash. Happy to be here and able to be stir crazy, but I am still getting tired of sitting around just the same.

I'm not sure you can leave Coalmont and go off the mountain very far. Last I heard there is a gate up.

I spoke with a couple that live just across the paved road from the Coppinger Cove baptist church, they say folks are still riding in that way, but don't know the extent of where they can go.

A few friends of mine were just there a few weeks ago. They got the daily permits from the conservation and went to the cave, the church, and to sherwin williams. I am not sure if they ever went on coalmont property. I think they entered from the Creamery/Bee hive side down near Coppinger Cove Baptist Church and made there way up from there. I think after the cave they said that they ran into some private property signs but some locals told them that is the rock mining property and as long as you aren't acting stupid they don't care if you use there roads. This is just hearsay so don't take my word for it.

There is some really fun rock crawling areas up near that flat rock. And you can get into that area from Griffith Creek side.

Stock wheelbase TJ on 35s climbing the waterfall. The hole that you climb out of to get to where the video starts was pretty deep but it was January and water was flowing.
