Control Arm Bushing Sleeves

Does anyone know if it is possible to get just the outer bushing sleeve for the control arm bushings. This is a wierd request and for an XJ, but same axle as a TJ and its because I want to use poly bushings for a drag raceing Jeep.

I have determined I really do not want to try and save the old bushing sleeves mostly because I am lazy. These are for polys and would be fine with buying new sleeves if they are available. But I cannot find them so not sure if they exist or not.

The inner sleeves could probably be found somewhere, or at least equivalents made via some round steel tubing. I'd think the outers are super unlikely to be available at all. They're probably stamped and only sold to whoever assembles the final bushings, if not stamped by the bushing manufacturer(s) themselves. Your best bet would be to either buy the bushings new and deconstruct, find someone who is getting rid of an old set, or head to a salvage yard.

Thats what I was also thinking the case was. I’m thinking at this point I might as well just make custom tubular steel control arms to fit the bushings. I dont need them to be adjustable, they just need to be fixed at stock length. And they look real simple, just a straight shot from center to center.

I assume you have a welder if you’re doing all this.

I do have a welder just not welding skill for something like this. But I usually powdercoat stuff for a coworker that is an excellent fabricator and he is about to have a lot of LS parts needing coated. We exchange work for work a lot. I usually engamaneer whatever, and he makes it happen.
