Will report back tomorrow night, but I couldn't see it. My access was bad in the garage and the gas tank really blocks the viewlook on the other side - you should see it there
Makes sense. I think the videos I watch are on a newer LJ.I have only seen drain plugs on JK Dana 44s. I’ve never seen one on a tj housing.
Standing at the back looking at the spare tire, where is it on the axle? My understanding is it should be on the passenger side on the other side of the diff cover. Mine does not have it, but my axle is a Dana 44, right?TJ Rubicon Dana 44's have drain plugs. I've never used mine.
That right there. Only the Rubicon Dana 44 axles have drain plugs, standard TJ rear D44s do not.Only Rubicon 44’s got drain plugs, the regular TJ/LJ did not. My LJ Rubi had them on both axles, current non Rubi LJ doesnt have them.
Could I interest you in a good borescope?I prefer opening up the diff when changing oil so I can inspect my gears and spiders. Can't do that through a drain hole.
So no RTV? That would definitely make life easier. Is the lubelocker the general consensus here?Just take the cover off and when you put it back on get a lubelocker gasket. Makes life so much easier
