Dashboard swap question

Currently have a scratched up black dash in my 04 Lj. I really like the mist grey color and the khaki color interiors. If I were to purchase one of these dashes from any year TJ would it fit into my 04? I found a pretty good deal on a mist grey dash on marketplace from a 98 TJ and want to know if it will swap in.

most likely the older ones will have different electrical connection plugs.

You could just swap out the dash skins. Save a lot of effort in trying to figure out if connectors are the same. The most difficult part of doing this is the passenger airbag cover which requires taking the airbag out.
