Did Jeeps come with a washer under the steering stop?

I have the knuckle off for ball joints and U joints and just noticed this.

Looks like no washers in the first pic in that post. I had two washers, should be able to increase my turn radius. Nice

Why do people keep decreasing their turning radius? If the noise is troublesome, back off on the steering until it stops.
