So this is the wiring diagram for the OTRATTW switch I’m planning on installing.

I’m a little confused about what it says for terminal 7. “Do not jumper this terminal if you need both positive and negative wires from your dimmer circuit.” How do I know if I need both positive and negative wires from the dimmer circuit? I assume that means I can control the brightness of the lights with the dimmer switch just like the dash lights. If I tap into the fuse for the dash lights will the dimmer switch control the brightness of my switch lights? I can’t see why I’d need a ground wire coming from the dimmer circuit or how I’d even do that. My plan right now is just to tap the dash light fuse in the box and have the power for the switch LEDs come from that and ground everything in the circuit to the body ground.

How did you end up doing it? I figured that since everything is chassis ground you can still jumper the ground but tap number 6 to the dimmer circuit which is switched. Not sure why they would say not to jumper it when the ground plane is the same for all circuits.

Resurrecting an old thread.

I'm not worried about grounding but, gor those that have used these switches, what did you go with for post 6?

Switched power, switches illuminates whenever Jeep is on.

Linked to dash lights.... are there two options here? A wire that is either on or off and another wire with a pulsed dimmer current? I can't remember if I used either or both when I installed the stereo. I guess I can test when I actually pull the console again to install the switches.
