Do I need to burp the radiator?

I recently changed out the valve cover gasket and had to disconnect the upper radiator hose to get it out. I lost a little fluid. Do I need to burp the radiator to remove air? Or just watch the overflow and fill appropriately?

Open cap when cold, start and let it run?

If you got the correct thermostat with the jiggle valve on the top it'll go much faster but if you got a normal one it's basically the same but you have to get the engine warm to bleed the system. With the correct valve you can just let it sit and it bleeds all by itself.

Do tj’s come from the factory with a “jiggle” valve?

I normally just take off the radiator cap let the air come out. I use a funnel as well to. the bubbles might cause the coolant to overflow but with the funnel you watch the air bubbles go up without the coolant falling to the floor.

TJ cooling system is designed to be self burping. @Jerry Bransford can elaborate much more I’m sure. There are several threads on this a well.

Unless the factory thermostat failed before 57k miles, here is the original next to the replacement I put in somewhere around 80k miles. I don't recall a jiggle valve on the 2003 original.

I never said he knows more than Chrysler but apparently you must.

This was already asked. Do TJ's come from the factory with a jiggle valve on the thermostat? If not, then no one is recommending anything that is a significant change from the factory.
