So I assume I have an early 97 model. PO put a warn bumper with a tire carrier on the back. I extended the post, added a cross bar above the tire for a CB and GMRS antenna...and a combo reverse light/third brake light.

Problem is the brake circuit is also the turn signal on both left and right rear taillights. Looked through the FSM and it looks like it should be a tan wire...but no such luck. Ran my clamping ammeter on the wires and confirmed there is no dedicated wire.

So...does anyone know a spot in the PDU to pick up the brake light circuit...or should I intercept the brake light switch and run that to a relay... assuming I need to run a wire all the way back.

I think I have the wrong 97 FSM.

This shows a 6 pin stop switch...I assume that's the one on the petal.

Mine has four positions. Correct wiring diagrams would sure help. Going to comb through the stickied post cause I think there area couple of 97 versions.

Are the original contacts on the rear door? If so, connect to them. If not, the wiring diagram you have shows a white/W tan wire, looks like the second wire from the top in your pic.
No contacts. No white with tan wire. Brake switch is not as pictured. Probably the wrong FSM.

I'll keep looking!
