Over the past 3 months Ive been chasing an electricals issues Im talkin drained battery even when nothings on, blown interior lighting fuse, a done in fuel pump relay, and then today jumping gauges and a dead battery it only happens once every couple days but this would be the 6th time Ive been stranded cause of these issues.

Blown fuses probably means a short somewhere. I was intermittently blowing 2 different fuses. Had to de-loom the underbody harness but I found a bunch of bare wires. Cleaned all that up and re-loomed, good as new. IDK if that's your problem, but I've never opened up a TJ harness and not found something that needed to be corrected.

I mean I know that my looming is pretty dang crusty

Invest in a clamping ammeter.

Easiest way to see which wires are drawing current.

This is gonna make me seem like a fool and frankly I am but how exactly does that even work in regards to findin a short, I tried lookin it up and it just dont make no sense to me

Excellent question!

Basically you put the clamp around a wire and it tells you how much current is being drawn.

And your power is going to fork...so you can measure at the big wire going to the PDC from the battery...then you can pull fuses and put both leads across and see what amperage runs to each.

Essentially when the Jeep is off you shouldn't draw much current. The PCM and radio will draw a little... Tenths, hundreds of an amp.

But you're basically looking for the vampire that's draining your battery.
