Won't work with the fob, might be an issue with my car? Everything else works on my altima except the remote start. When I had the free nissan connect trial it worked fine, then I got the letter asking me for money.

I never bothered to bring it to the dealership because I just jump into the car and go. I guess I should get it checked while it's still covered by the warranty.

I’d be pissed if the fob didn’t work. I can somewhat understand the cost for online stuff.

I was listening to Kudlow on Fox Business (magic radio) he was talking about EVs. He said dealerships have EVs collecting dust in their lots, people don't even want to rent them.

The government is pushing car makers to continue to make a product for the most part very few want.

Now on the subject of subscriptions, Nissan wants me to pay them 8 bucks a month so I can remote start my car. F*** that. They should remove the remote start system that I paid for and give me back the money.

My daughters rogue just did the same, F-them and the MyNissian app not paying for it.

Until they stop throwing expensive tech at a gasoline engine to get the same efficiency as a diesel, I'm out. A diesel electric hybrid would get my attention.

I was assigned one as my company car the last year before I retired (2020/2021). I was initially wary, but I liked it. My coworker has owned one for over a decade without problems.

IIRC, I got an honest 40 MPG. The electric motor kicked in when I would try to merge, making performance much better than gas only. There was a big monitoring gauge that showed where the electricity was flowing, either to the wheels or to the battery. It reminded me of the flux capacitor from "Back to the Future".

When going down a big hill, I would take my foot off the gas pedal, and watch as the battery charge would increase in the battery. Depending on the length of the downhill, I could fully charge the battery by the time I hit the bottom.

A coworker of mine has a 2021 he got new

He drives 100 miles one way ea day, so about 200 a day. High paying job. Hes very happy with it, and Toyota has a great reputation for longevity

Not a bad option for a DD esp if you live in an area that has 4 seasons with adverse conditions. Obviously in winter it affects the batteries ALOT more so your hybrid MPG basically is null and void unless parked in a warm garage.

I have a Hybrid Hyundai SUv and mine is supposef to get 30mpg but I do 90 and I get about 21 now in the subfreezing temps. Mine is kept outside, because my garages are filled with summer toys

I don't know if this video has already found itself on this thread but if not, damn, as if we need another reason not to touch one of these with a 10 foot pole, at least these higher end ones. Listen to the process they would have had to go through had it not been repairable with paintless dent removal:

I didn't realize the Rivian was built that way. I'll have to pay attention next time I see one.

41k is absurd but if that's what it costs that's what it costs. The route he took couldn't have been cheap either, transporting that thing from North Carolina to Florida & back, two days of work...

These things are going to absolutely destroy the affordability of car insurance which it's already begun doing.

I don't think you'll see traditional car manufacturers going to a design like that. The cost doesn't matter much that it's electric it is because of the design of the body on the Rivian.

Ex GF had one. It was very nice, drove really well, and got insane mileage for an AWD SUV. The transition between battery and gas was nearly seamless, it'd get out of its own way, and there was nothing about the experience that was off-putting. Driving her RAV really forced me to reassess my opinion of hybrids.....Not only would I own one, I think it's crazy that every manufacturer doesn't offer a hybrid option on every platform.
