Factory installed cruise control no longer working

I have a 98 TJ with factory CC and I am not seeing a solution posted here (forgive me if I missed the thread on this)... So here goes.

Issue:
Cruise light no longer comes on at all, used to come on but I had to hit the Set button several times to get it to actually start holding a speed..

Things I have done:
Replaced control Switches
Verified that Clutch switch is working... Funny note.. Didn't know about the Fuse feature that makes it so that you don't have to press the clutch to start the engine... I must have inserted a fuse in #20 as a spare at some point and fortunately a forum told me about that, so I have removed that fuse while trying to troubleshoot the CC issue.
I don't think that vacuum leak or disconnected cable from throttle body would cause the light to not come on...
Horn works and Airbag Light is not on, so I am tempted to think that the clock spring may be ok.

Any other suggestions?

Don't rule out the clock spring do quickly. Check to see if you have continuity through the spring. Mine went bad and the horn still worked but the airbag part was shot.

I did find out that the replacement Switches that I installed appear to be for a 1999 and apparently have the wrong resistance for my rig.
The part number I have installed right now is 56007531AD and 56007530AD, but according to my local Jeep Dealer. The 1998 TJ is supposed to have 56007531AC and 56007530AC.

It just so happens that the same Ebay seller that I purchased the ADs from had a set of ACs and I have them on the way..
I will update when I have them installed...
If that doesn't work, then I will start looking hard at the clock spring.

It did turn out to be the switches.... I removed the AD switches and installed the AC switches per the Jeep dealer and Ta Daaaaaaa.
Cruise is working better than ever..
Amazing that Jeep changed the resistance almost year to year. Problem solved
