Does any one know when the first tj was made? The data plate on mine says 3-96. It is a 97 model and They didn’t make a 96 model year. So when did production start ?
 
You can look up your vin plate number that should tell when your Jeep was manufactured and all the original options that it came with. Search this site for "Vin plate lookup". If you can't find the look up site, I have it somewhere.
 
Introduced January 2, 1996. Arrived in Jeep showrooms in April 1996. Actually built? 1995?
