I did all the work on that car myself except a/c work. It was so cool that so much of the things in that car worked on vacuum thru hoses everywhere, including sunroof, door locks, etc. Finding the source of vacuum leaks was always exciting!

I do some of mine - problem is its so fucking hot here that its easier to take it to the man, who is literally within walking distance of my house.

Get him an FJ Cruiser and take the back seat out. Less distractions and safer for him to be driving...and reliable.

When I was 16 my dad really wanted me to get a 2 door vehicle for that reason, which I wanted a 2 door car anyway. He said people would be less likely to want to ride with me. I didn't understand it then, but I do now.

pull the head, have it checked and a new head gasket. change fluids and drive it!
