Fox performance series remote reservoir front shock

Recently got to looking at these. They are very similar in lengths to my current Rancho 9000s. The foxs are 10.6” travel. As long as I can find a reliable tuner who does the performance series I don’t see why I should do custom front mounts to chase an 11” shock.
Of course this is front only. Bolt in 10.6” tunable shock? Am I missing something?

From what I’ve heard, it’s tough to find someone who will actually tune them. I guess the nitrogen charge needle is very expensive and very fragile. I think the piston is different too, but they use the same shim stacks as the race series shocks.

Here is a needle for the performance series. This one is for non-resi shocks, but the short needle for resi shocks is the same price

$110? I've been reading about how expensive these needles are for the last few years and I had a much larger number in my head.

Just depends on how often you break one.
