Front end diff bearing whirring

The front and rear shafts on my 06 were keyed. I was pleasantly surprised.

That's nice. I've never pulled a stock Jeep shaft apart, but I’ve seen plenty of other shafts that were just splined and could be assembled however vibration-inducing someone wanted, or is that the message seat feature?

My dad has been doing business with them for a while and was always happy with the service until recently after some bad experiences with them

Interesting. I’ve been recommending them based on my experience. I'd like to know a little more, if you have time, just DM me and we won't clutter this thread up.

The FSM says you need to mark them before disassembly, so I did. Then found out they were keyed.

Update: I went for a drive to get lunch this afternoon and noticed that while idling with the AC on, I could hear a noise similar to the whirring I was hearing yesterday, only it was a bit more warbly. It also seemed to have a similar volume to the noise I heard yesterday on the highway (just loud enough to be audible). I still plan on taking the driveshaft off this week to test though

All you really have to take off is the front straps at the diff, 5/16 bolts. But you then have to very securely strap up the front DS to the frame and be absolutely sure not to put it in 4WD.

Not the best idea. Take it all the way off. Need to anyway if taking it to drive shaft shop. They can tell you quick if needs redone.

5/16 wrench not bolt.
