Front License plate?

Wanted to see what you did after installing new front bumpers for your front plate? Here in Washington we have to run it or risk the ticket. I put on a new bumper and will be ordering the winch. So basically the grill is only place but that looks like crap.

I have the same bumper, and while we are supposed to have a front plate here in Oregon too, I haven't ran it for a year now. I guess I really need to mount it, so I am subscribing to this one as well.

Same law in Ohio, and they do enforce it. I got pulled over years ago when I didn't have one on my car.

I drilled two holes in my plate and used the MAGLIGHT flashlight brackets to connect it to the winch fairlead rollers

I have a similar bumper. My solution was to use wire ties to attach the plate to the grill. I also placed double sided tape on the back of the plate so that it wouldn't rub directly against the grill surface and scratch it.

I have no input on the bumper, but I am wondering how you like those headlights @Bskylerj? I ordered a set of those from Amazon, they will be here tomorrow. I was nervous I wouldn't like the look, but they look sweet on your TJ. Thanks for posting.

I have the same headlights, you will love them. They perform night and day difference from stock ones.

I love them. I wired the them up so they are daytime running lamp too. I ordered black bezel n powder coated the retaining ring black

That is great to hear! I had already planned on painting the chrome rings. I'm more excited now than I was before. I want to do the daytime running laps as well but wiring is not my forte. How did you do that?

I loved not having a plate on the front, or the rear plate not lite. For a graveyard shift cop that is a perfect reason to have a conversation.

I've been pulled over numerous times for a faulty rear plate light. I had an old T-brid that went thru at least 20 bulbs in the 5 years that I owned it. I hated that car & I hated getting pulled over on my way to work. Iowa State Patrol is relentless about that shit.

I want to do the daytime running laps as well but wiring is not my forte. How did you do that?

The wires are separate from the plug for the standard headlight. We took the power to accessory so they came on when the key did

First, do you plan to install a winch anytime soon? If you do, I will show you a very cool way to mount your license plate that was mentioned above using Maglight clips.

That's the design I was going to show him if he was going to install a winch. But I made mine for $5 for the Maglight clips plus a little scrap of sheet metal for the license plate backing. 30 minutes of work plus $5 for the Maglight clips beats that $35 it'd cost when you add in shipping & tax. Not to mention you wouldn't have to suffer the indignity of installing a Smittybilt brand.

Then I'd make sure to opt for the roller fairlead and go with the above recommended plate holder. And don't let anyone tell you that an aluminum hawse is required if you go with synthetic rope, that old-wive's tale was disproven years ago. Some websites perpetuate that myth but they're just presenting outdated information. A roller fairlead is actually gentler on a synthetic rope and nope, the rope won't/can't move into the corners between the rollers to be damaged.
