I have a zone 3" lift installed on a TJ i just bought and the jeep still has the original front track bar. I noticed when I checked underneath after experiencing death wobble. Everything on the jeep is stock besides the lift no heavy bumpers or accessories, and the lift although 3" actually gained about 4". My question is while looking at the JKS OGS126 front track bar it states is good for 1-3.5 inches of lift, now do I use that one since it was a 3" lift or do I use a larger one based off the actual gain of the lift. Thanks

It seems like you’re diagnosing your DW issues with the trackbar, what leads you to that as the issue?

Typically it’s a bad balance on the wheels. In the case it’s the steering system you can often validate with a dry steer test.

Note: you can still get DW on stock components.

I’ve been in the jeep recently before I bought it and the PO had no dw until after the lift which was The only change before i bought it . The wheels were balanced recently with new ties as well but before the lift. IM assuming that since the only thing that changed was the lift and that the track bar was put in the original mounting hole that is the cause. The po did not want to drill into the bracket and weaken it with another hole and neither do i that’s why I’m asking about the track bar length. I measured the front end and it is about 1/3 inch to the driver side.

I’m not familiar with that causing DW, only bump steer - so I’ll defer to the more knowledgeable in the forum to answer. However me being a skeptic - I would expect a previous owner to claim the same (no DW ever).

Use the JKS OGS126 track bar.

I used that with my 4" lift and it worked perfectly. I also could have easily shortened it to run a 3" lift. It's got a lot of room to get bigger or smaller.

Thank you i wasnt sure about bottoming it out of the range. Also im friends with the PO so ive actually borrow the jeep recently before i bought it so i know i never experienced dw in the week i had it and he wouldnt lie.

You never know when something can happen that is circumstantial. One day I changed my spark plugs and 20 minutes later it wouldn't start. One would think, as I did, that something was going on with the plugs. I turned out to be the actuator in the steering column. Another time I put on a motor mount lift, that evening I went for a drive and got DW. One would think it was the motor mount lift. In a way it was. The motor mount changes the motors relationship to the frame and rigidity, but I bout new tie rod ends, new trackbar, and while that got rid of the DW, I never got rid of the shimmy until I got new tires. I tried balancing them three different times. Something was wrong with those tires.

The very first time mine had death wobble, it was after about a 1.5" spring lift from stock. Factory arms, track bar and steering. I hadn't done an alignment.
