Front turn signals only work when lights are turned on

hey guys i have a 97 tj with flat fenders and the poison spyder 3/4 markers with 3 wires (red, white, and black). i tried wiring them every way and the only way i can get them to work is with the lights turned on. the way they are wired now is the only way they somewhat work, any other wire combination and the lights either stay steady on or not at all. is there a resistor or something i need due to the low power being drawn from the led’s or what could be my issue? this is only happening on the front marker lights not the rear signals. i have a video but not sure if i can post it. so to sum it up basically rear signals are fine and always work, front signals only work when i have lights turned to marker position or headlight on position. when lights are turned off completely, the only signals that work are rear.

It sounds like during the fender installation process the ground wire for the turn signals wasn't reconnected or there's fresh paint somewhere that is preventing them from getting a good ground connection.

Do you have an LED flasher relay?
Done properly no load resistors are needed.
Black: Connect to running lights
Red: Connect to turn signal
White: Connect to bare metal on vehicle body (inner fender should work)

Check in the factory service manual wiring diagrams to verify which wire is which that you are splicing to on the auto body side. It will tell you which wire is which by the color.

(Best to open them on a computer or tablet.)
