Fuel tank replacement

When I read through it online, I believe there is a difference in the 15 gal and 19 gal sending units, so you should be able to just buy a 19 gal tank sending unit and be good. if not, it just reads full for longer which is what I have lived with.

As for not getting a reading, if you have a 19 gal tank, quarter of a tank is 4.75 gallons, so with 2 gallons in the tank it should move the needle a tad to almost an 8th but maybe add another 2 gallons first to check.

The newish tank is a 19 gallon and should have the correct fuel pump. I’ll add another couple gallons and see what happens.

I dropped the tank again and replaced the newish fuel pump with the old one. The gas gauge works and I can actually start the Jeep now, (it wouldn’t start with the newish pump.). Seems like the gauge didn’t register until there was around 5 gallons in the tank.

Now I can start figuring out things like gas mileage and range.
