Got myself into a fix it race

So I went to a friends birthday party last weekend and ended up in a 4 way race.
Who can get their jeep back up and running first.

I’ll start with me,

I’ve got parts on order:

I got into a bit of an accident last trip out a couple years ago and totally F-ed up everything up front. Second time my front axle housing has been bent (I got hit by a street bike at about 75mph back in 2004). I called John at auburn car repair and off road and he sent me to Dean at bent metal customs in Puyallup to straighten it out. After talking I have parts on order and am pulling the front end but I have a part on back order so my jeep should be up and running by the end of next month. I still have some stuff I’m doing to it in the meantime.

2nd is my buddy Dale

He has been rebuilding his jeep for the last 6 years and is down to steering and
tranny to get it running but has a ton of other parts to install that may or may not happen before he takes it out again. His timeline is about the same as mine.

3rd is Brandon

Electrical gremlins have him down for the moment but I sent him to John at auburn repair and off road. When he gets it their is anyones guess

Last is Gabe

I can’t even remember what he got left to do but it’s probably not much. He’s just lazy about his jeep

Competition is fun and motivating for me. So I’m taking this pretty seriously. Especially with Dale.


Anyone else feel the same way, or get motivation from friends? I

I trussed and sleeved my front Dana 30 and put a Super 30 with revolution shafts and an e-locker. Completely overkill. But hey...only time and money...

for this reason i am forbidden from getting a second project. One only!

My wheeling buddies and i typically start our own projects in an alternating fashion when one is down the others are up and going and that is the motivation to get done as quick as possible to keep wheeling.

Unless I'm making money with my Jeep offroad, like I did when I raced motocross, I don't waste the money or time. It's a fun hobby with no real rewards.
p.s. I don't take selfie pics of my Jeeps flexing with me not in them either. That's someone elses job if you actually did something worth taking a pic of.

Gotta do it for the 'GRAM brooo.

I think I have 3 pics of my Jeep total on my phone, 2 are on this forum somewhere.

My race always seems to be to the next wheeling trip...I don't too many "big" multi day trips, so getting that last mod or repair in before I go is always a rush.

That’s funny, usually before a multi day trip my jeep is 100% ready, then the week before I’ll decide to do or change something big to it and I’ll be wrenching on it up till I go

Sounds like a fun competition. My best friend and I have been working on mine 4 to 5 days a week since April 2nd. Tomorrow is the last day I have his help for awhile but we were able to complete a ton. Together we got all of these projects completed.
rear outboard shock towers extended and moved the rear springs back a little more. New extended front shock towers, new trackbar mount welded to the frame, new 3 link mounts and links built and installed, painted the entire frame, built a stand alone transmission crossmember, made modification to the trans tunnel to get the Atlas 4 speed up a bit more, started modification to the ultra clearance belly skid plate from UCF, mocked up the new Highline fenders, cut the new hood for the highline fenders, mounted the rear corner armor but still need to cut out the wheel wells, cutting and fitting the inner fenders and mini boatside rock sliders tomorrow. Then I’ll tear it all apart next week to prep it all for paint.
