Harbor freight air compresor

Morning all. I have been jonesing after an air compressor and have limited space. Harbor freight has their hot dog compressors for $40. Are these decent? I just need something for simple tire fills, maybe some air tools, etc.

My experience with anything electrical or motorized from Harbor Freight has had a very short life. Soldering iron, heat gun, drill/battery and a light have all crapped out on me. They do have good, useable items that are worth buying, just not anything involving electricity.

I have their 60 gallon compressor in the garage. It's over 10 yrs old & still runs great.

I've never owned one so I can't comment on reliability but too many times I have found that cheap tools are not cheap.

Regardless of brand, just make sure you have a good understanding of what air tools you'll want to be able to use since a lot of the really small ones won't power much beyond a brad nailer. A lot of other tools will require a higher CFM.
