Still prefer the ceiling mounted storage option, so when the top is on the jeep you do not have a large piece of thing to store.

Only planning on using this to pull the thing off for a day (or two) when I have time to enjoy a drive with no lid or full doors.
My only concern about the device in question is if it reaches far enough to safely handle an LJ roof.
I have my concerns as well, though given that a fair bit more than half the weight of the LJ's top is in the actual rear half the top, I
think it would work. Additional dimensions would be helpful, but I haven't found any as of yet, not even in the PDF assembly manual I found (though it is available in 8 languages
).
OP, I don't know if you have or have the room for an engine hoist but, I bought one of those inexpensive folding ones.
I then removed the extension part and fabbed up an arm that reached over the hardtop to lift it high enough to remove it and then set it back on the ground. That could be good enough for topless day drive and back on in a few minutes at the end of the day. Other good uses for it were to lift a gen-set and snow blower onto my workbench to service them.
I appreciate where you're coming from, but I can't fabricate anything here. While I do have the skills, I lack the tools and appropriate shop space as of about 3 years ago now.
Beats sitting on the ground.
That's not an option, either. Last owner did that and the critters turned it into a hotel...which I then spent hours cleaning out 1.5 years back.
