Has anyone swapped out their factory gauge cluster with aftermarket gauges?

My goofy gauges are American made right here in Anaheim Ca.. I like them A LOT!. I have them tuned so it feels like I'm doing 8-9k and 150 mph.

Just kidding, they are "properly" tuned.

I cerakoted the bezel Titanium. At some point, the whole dash will be Titanium.

I am also running a ScanGauge II

Moved my GPS/ipad (running Gaia) up to the top too, cleaned up the control pit a bunch:

Seems like you could use a few more things for your dash. Can I interest you in a clock for your dash?

Damn Tommy I like your dash in the CJ and in your TJ. It's on my list of MAYBE's but it'd be nice if I had it running again first.
Well, you bit off a big bite. It is looking good though. I am still wobbly legged over here, how did your shop heat go? Once you get that squared away, your build will be sticky/article worthy! Can't wait to see it on the trails.

Got to test it out last night and it seems to work. I've got to do some rearranging so I can work on stuff but I'm almost ready to start assembling the engine.

Wondering if all of you that are keen to swap out the gauges are aware of the key-on-3-times trick to display the OBD2 codes on the factory Odometer? That's helped us a few times on the trails to figure out what's wrong without needing any special tools.

As much as I like the opportunity to customise the dash, I don't wanna give up that feature. It's one of the best things about the TJ IMO, smart enough to help you when you need it, but not too smart that it restricts you like more modern vehicles.

@Zorba divert your eyes

@Oman Jeep couldn‘t you just get Bluetooth for your OBD 2, link to app on your smart phone, and have access to not only codes but full engine data? I guess can consider that special tool but the Bluetooth adapter is relatively inexpensive and most of us have smart phone in our pocket.

ScanGauge II has tons of features. I kept the units out of the trucks we had to get rid of last year. King Newsome decreed that my legally purchased trucks did not appeal to him any longer (another story).

It shows vitals, reads codes and clears them too. It has MPG feature but not applicable to my trailer queen

With as many cheap code readers as there are today, that isn't as big of a deal breaker as it could be not to mention that is not a function all TJ clusters have.
