Hello people!

I'm Sten from Antwerp, Belgium.
Just bought a '01 4.0 sport
51000 km, airo, cruise control.
First jeep ever! Always drove BMW so this is completely new for me!
Things I want to change: 4" lift, 15" black rims and 33" tires, new bumper front and back, bushwhacker fenders 6", led headlights, upgrade brakes, radio switch and the hard top needs repainting too!

Welcome to the forum! That's a good looking TJ you have and probably not the most common vehicle over their in Europe I would assume?

Welcome. I had a 79 or 80 CJ7 with the AMC 360 while stationed in Stuttgart! Love being unusual in Europe.:p. You will have a ball with that rig.

Thx guys! Yeah it's not something you see very often... People turning heads everytime I pass... The only thing I have to tackle quickly is the sound! It's like a vacuum cleaner! Is it normal?

What sounds that way, exhaust or air intake? ? Does it have cold air intake?

Welcome. Nice Jeep. Post up some pictures when you get it on the trails.

It seems like the cooling fan is making way too much noise... When I'm driving it sounds like it's blowing really hard! I have cold air intake, yes. The exhaust sounds fine to me. When I'm driving normal, it sounds like a vacuum cleaner going mad

Check and see if your fan clutch moves freely when the engine is off. There should be no reason for that fan to turn constantly. MOST cold air intakes are not really that. They still draw heated air from the engine compartment. So unless you get one of the Specter or MCAI units all you are getting is a bit more freely moving air. From all I have heard there seems to be very little benefit of these over the factory box. In fact, most of the filters these kits use are far below the factory standards in air filtration.
Good luck

Ok! Will do! Thanks a lot for the info!

X2 to what @Stinger said. Normally when the fan starts up that invokes the vacuum noise you speak of (which is normal when it's running hot). It shouldn't be running like that all the time though unless you're sitting in traffic constantly or something.

Welcome Stenley! Nice looking TJ. Wow, BMW to TJ... That's almost a polar opposite in vehicles right there. Belgium, that's the home of Fabrique Nationale d'Herstal, one of my favorite manufacturers.
