Trying to track down a replacement shift tower boot for my AX-5 and have looked high and low with no luck. It is the rubber boot that seals the top of the shift tower where the stick exits the trans. Thought I had the right one and ordered the item below but it's several inches to small. Tried to locate any info from the old seal but there are zero markings.

There are 3 boots that I'm aware of...one on top of the trans (the one in your link)..which is about 2.5" or so OD, then another sort of round one that screws down to the trans tunnel sheet metal which is about 6" around, and the rectangle bellows boot that you see sitting in the drivers seat with everything else in place. Whats the diameter of the one you received and whats the diameter of the one you need at the largest point?

Get back to you in the AM, thanks.

The one on the left is the original that was removed and the diameter of the shift tower it slips over is 2-1\2" On the right is what is being sold as a direct replacement and as you can see is nowhere near the correct size.

mine looks like the one on the right. How long have you owned your jeep? Are you sure you have an AX5 transmission. No disrespect intended, I know they used the AX5 for many years and are for the most part easily interchangeable. My friend has about 5 of them laying around and I haven't seen a boot that looks like the one on the left.
