So it’s getting hot here in Cali I’m sure in other states too because of the Heat wave.
My moms 4Runner a/c stopped working. It was cold as Alaska in there.
Went to autozone rented the gauge manifold set. Static pressure on both high and low are 40. When the Ac is running,
low side drops to 0 and high side is at 70.

What I get from this is.. there maybe a leak because low side is at 0 but on the high side it reads 70 so I’m kinda confused about that. I know the high side pressure is waaay to low and should be around 110-130?
I also don’t see the compressor kicking in with the gauges hooked up.

My TJ has a similar issue, static around 35, when I run the system, the compressor starts, low pressure drops to negative pressure, high side gets to about 170 and compressor stops. I’m pretty sure it’s low on Freon, plan to hook up a can and try that before I take it to a shop.

Yea I’m taking her car to the shop. I don’t have the equipment or else I’ll do it myself. I suspect it has a leak and the compressor is shot.
