I know a lot of these posts have been made, but I have to try.
I had a shop do $4,000 of work to my 2004 Jeep TJ and when I got it back it started making a high pitch hum or whistle when I am at freeway speed.
The sound is like a dull whistle. It goes away if I let go of the gas, and always happens at the exact same speed. 71mph.
Tires are new, there are no vacuum leaks, and the rear differential was checked and fluid replaced.
It sounds like its coming from the engine side of the firewall. I have read suggestions saying to tighten the manifold bolts, but that wouldnt make any sense with the acceleration and specific speed issue would it?
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. I really cant handle this noise anymore. Thanks!!
