So I was putting on new shocks and both of the boys broke on top. I’m trying to drill them out put it seems like it’s taking forever. And I still have even gotten to the other side yet. I have no car right now so I need to fix this quick!

Dremel with an attachment, and a tap will do.

Use this attachment and cutting wheel and you can slide it up so you can cut the welded nut. Then once you wreck the welded nut you can use a tap and hammer to finish it up.

Dremel attachment: The 225-01 Flex Shaft Attachment

Dremel 420 Heavy Duty Cut-Off Wheels

This guy did a video but went over the top, I think because he had a 90 degree dremel attachment rather than the flex attachment, but the video is really helpful so you can see what you are up against.

I tried to lift the body but still could not get a bite on them from the top, I was not willing to cut the tub from above. I ended up taking the easy route and took it into my mechanic, he drilled them out and had 4 new bolts in about hour. Where on Long Island are you?
