High oil pressure

So I recently change my oil on my Jeep 2000 4.0 with about 116k miles on it. I got about 8in of snow where I work and decided to drive my Jeep to work. I noticed that my oil pressure gauge is reading 80psi at about 15/20mph and 40psi at idle. I checked my oil level and it seems normal but am planning on checking again just to make sure. Could it be the unit sending unit?

Sure it could and is probably the problem. If you have a mechanical test gauge to check your oil pressure would confirm. If you don’t have a mechanical gauge, probably cheaper to just buy a sensor.

I think I'm just gonna buy a new sensor. I found a Mopar Unit but on some websites, it says it fits but on others, it says it doesn't (5149064AB part number).

I had the sensor go out on my last Jeep. There was no fluctuation, just pinned the needle all the way up. Super easy to change out and inexpensive, hopefully thats it
