And they're really famous for leaking if you try to reuse them...

Yep I'd heard the same thing which is why I've got all new hoses. I've got to get it all unboxed tomorrow and then start reassembling it. I've also got a Sinister Diesel degasse bottle that's going on it.

One of the nice things about the Mishimoto hoses is that they are doubled o-ringed instead of the single o-ring like stock. So they improved on the design and added that second 0-ring.

Can you just clamp a standard hose onto the thing?

Not really.

Look at this design, Would you trust a hose being clamped to it?

I'm getting closer to having it all done.. My body is OLD and only bends in so many ways and it's hurting right now. Here's how the cold air pipe fits where the stock one was smashed down.

Mishimoto makes a radiator support for the truck also. The stock ones are known to fail

Got the Sinister Diesel degas bottle installed.

Still need to tighten down all the clamps on the boots for the cold & hot charge air pipes.

I've still got to install the short one coming from the hot charge pipe.

A shot from the side

Mother Nature decided that I should get a later start today by washing down the area.

Stopped raining a half hour ago.

Got everything tightened and hooked up. But it seems I don't have one of these fancy radiator hoses hooked up all the way. I hooked up my new purge system and went to draw a vacuum in the cooling system but no joy.

Got the cooling system fixed. Filled it with 5 gallons of coolant.
But now I've got a no start issue. I'd disconnected the batteries while I was working on it but don't know why that would affect it. Going to have to do some checking.

Fixed.... It was something simple & stupid..... I'd missed hooking up a cable to the positive post on the degas bottle side. It's fallen down under the bottle when I was putting things back together.
Ran it long enough to get it warm and didn't have any leaks so I must have done something right? Next will be taking it out and running it up some hills to test the boost and hope I don't blow off a boot.

Looks pretty damn good too.

Tomorrow I start on the radio install, zorba will be so pleased with it I'm sure....

OK I've got to say for a Ford and newer one at that this was one of the easier dashes I've taken apart and done a stereo replacement on. Pop out the two lower panels and remove 2 7mm screws and then pop it off.

4 7mm screws hold the head unit in place and boom I was done. And for ONCE I didn't break any of the plastic pieces on the dash... Even got the vent out and reinstalled into the new dash piece.

Out with the OLD

In with the NEW....... I've got to figure out how to change that wall paper...

The apps list of stuff installed on the radio as it comes stock.

Then I installed another reverse camera

Drilled a 1/2" hole to drop the cable down through. Then tied into the reverse wires underneath the coach.

And I've got a second reverse camera now so I've got a view from up high and one down low.

I have this aux input panel that I'm considering drilling out and putting a dual USB port in it's place. But I hate to ruin the stock part. I'd thought I remembered seeing a site that had 3D printed parts on it for the Ford Super Duty trucks but can't find it anymore.

I've got 3 USB cables that connect to the radio that I could hook up to a USB port on dash. Guess I could buy a spare piece so I have it if I ever wanted to return it to stock.

In for an epic rant and he better not disappoint or we’ll have to make him wear pants for a week.

He'll rant about the stereo and then tell us all how the nose is going to leak and then regress and go on & on about a GMC pickup that his parents owned as a kid....

Once I figure out how to work everything on this stereo I'm sure I'll be just fine with it. There's a lot on it I don't fully understand yet.
