How do you wash your TJ?

I like the creek idea, park in it until the water clears up down stream, voilà, done 😊

After all it’s a Jeep,
I even had one of our local law enforcement officers commenting :

“ every JEEP needs to look like yours “
🙈🤣😉

We like to take care of our investments, and a vehicle is a big one. It’s too much trouble for me to drag out the power washer. Here’s what I do:

1) for six months a year I pay $30/month to drive through the car wash anytime I want. Get out, dry remaining water off. This started because of the chemical they spray on the road in winter.
2) hand wash with Meguiars soap, a couple sponges, then wax.

I clean it when I can. If I’m going wheelin tomorrow I won’t clean it today, but wait till after.

I hand wash both Jeeps, I use Griots products... I never use tire dressing or vinyl dressing. (Wife use to use armor all on interior of the TJ, and you can really tell with the sticky steering wheel center and the top dash tray)

JT gets washed about twice a month... twice a year I clay, wax, detail interior; regular washes are soapy water, micro fiber dry, then best of show detail shine. I use the damp towel to wipe down all the interior.

TJ gets washed maybe 4 times a year... once right before the doors come off, right after the doors go back on, and a couple times during the winter. No clay, but I use a spray wax at each wash.

My Jeep’s PO loved armor all as well he complained that he didn’t have time to armor all the fender flairs etc. before showing it to me. 😒

I didn’t know that’s why my steering wheel and dash tray are sticky. 😭

I liked my Griot's DA until the button shot off the DA and its replacement. I was very patient with them until the customer service rep never made good on their word after it happened the second time.

I haven't compounded or polished the jeep yet, but here are the items I have used on other vehicles:

For cleaning and detailing I use the following items (top row exterior and bottom row for interior):

Exterior photos after using the 3-in-1 detailer (pink label) and a quick wipe with the ceramic spray coating (green label).

now that I'm in Yuma, I don't wash it, I just blow the sand off with the air hose now and then

...it's supposed to be a lovely 112 degrees tomorrow 🥵

It got so hot here last year that the corn in the field popped- The cows thought it was snow and froze to death.

Enjoy it while u can, as u know it will be even hotter soon.

Do you have monsoon season your way?

yup.. we will either get heavy rains during monsoon season, or the occasional haboob (huge dust storm) during the late summer when it gets really hot, dry, and windy...the rest of the time though it's just sunny and dry
