My original soft top will need to be replaced in the next few years. I’m thinking of picking up a used hardtop instead. My 97 SE has a 2.5 4 cylinder with a 5 speed transmission. Any thoughts on this concerning weight? I take the soft top down in the spring and put it back up in the fall. This is not my daily driver.

I would agree with that weight .

I never had a hard top , and always wanted one ...so I recently got one for my TJ (my 7th jeep)

They are really nice . Get a factory one if you can .

If it isn't wired for one , that is something to research .

150 I’d guess. I can crawl under mine and pick it up. I’m not a big or strong guy either.

125 or so. I love hardtops. I have a hoist to remove it. It’s not a pain to me.

I love my hard top, but don't like wheel with it on. The weight up high is noticeable out on the trail. Mine is a daily driver, but if it was an extra vehicle I'm not sure I would worry about getting a hard top.

I just weighed the hardtop of my 2006 LJ unlimited rubicon. I used 3 methods and 2 different scales. 2 of the measurements came out at 147 lbs. One was 145 lbs.
I wanted to know for a hard top hoist. I was going to DIY, however, after much research, i'm going to buy the Harkin 7806, which is rated for 200 lbs. The factory told me the only 2 differences between the 7803.Jeep 4 point lift and the 7806 4 point lift is the weight rating goes up from 145 to 200 lbs, and the OM for the 7803.Jeep has specific jeep instructions. They emailed me the OM which will work for the 7806.
