I’ve knocked my head on the factory bars while seat belted before. It hurt as was, can’t imagine if the padding wasn’t there. I agree it looks better, but I’m not willing to risk it. I’m 6’2” with a big ass head though
So trueNo, you would have spent it on some other mod...It's all a wash in the end.
Still curious if anybody has ever seen unpainted bars.
Yes, many jeeps have just the primer and not painted with body color.
Interesting. Specific years or trim levels maybe? All mine have been painted, out of a 99 Sahara, 05 and 06 Unlimited Sports.
irregardless of perceived effectiveness the pad is not "thin" on the 03-06To those chastising him because of a safety concern think that through. If you hit your head on the bar hard enough to leave more than a painful bump what injury do you think that thin pad will actually prevent? Think slowly if you need to.
Mine's an 06 Export to Australia.Still curious if anybody has ever seen unpainted bars.
my bars were not topcoated from the sound pods backStill curious if anybody has ever seen unpainted bars.
Every TJ I've ever owned were painted too. Even my 4 cylinder was matching red.Interesting. Specific years or trim levels maybe? All mine have been painted, out of a 99 Sahara, 05 and 06 Unlimited Sports.
Or ride in the back of a pickup, or sitting on the tailgate, or…Good lord, I am so glad I came along before car seats, bicycle helmets and required seat belts.
It's a wonder I didn't get my eyes shot out with a BB gun, blow my hand off with a M80(the real ones), drown because I would be gone on the lake all day by myself or lose a limb working on farm equipment.
Your Jeep looks like it skipped arm day at the gym. "You are a girly man".One of the best mods ever was scrapping that raggedy ass roll bar padding. View attachment 330095
It certainly does make a difference, up to a point. That is why it is there in the first place. To those chastising him because of a safety concern think that through.
