I shouldn't care, I shouldn't try to understand but I can't help myself. Question one, why would someone rip a 97 Jeep SE all apart then rebuild it with a 2.5 motor? I've had a 2.5, and a 2.4 Jeep but if I took down to the frame, I would put a different motor into it.

Second question why on earth would you take any model of Jeep and do what these people did ?

I’ll be that guy, I think the green YJ that can lay frame is kind of rad. It definitely has a rat rod/t-bucket vibe going.

One other thought on the frame pic. Sometimes projects like this are for a kid, be it just a learning experience or maybe a 4-H project. Many times cost is a factor and it’s more about the journey than the destination.

I must need more coffee this AM. I opened this post and stared for a minute thinking that first Jeep frame had a Pittsburg rear track bar. I was like damn, I didn't know harbor freight had Jeep parts now. Something even lower than Rough Country.

agreed, should have been done with the Willys grill in my opinion, but it's kinda cool. I don't get the turbo. why? you will ever get that to spool and if you did you'd blow your jeep up. redone just looks like a normal jeep. I assume it's got an I4, which is stupid if you rebuilt it but hey budget maybe?

It never fails to be amusing, all the strange things folks do to their rides. And I can't decide on what I think would happen first with the turbo. Would it just send the rods through the oil pan, or launch the head into the air!

I would totally drive a Jeep rat rod. The one on Roadkill was great.

Your first problem was trying to understand why people (who are crazy) would do crazy things to a vehicle.
