I think that salvage Jeeps are the only way to buy anymore

I bought my current salvage title '04 TJ after my previous TJ was stolen and I wouldn't have bought it had I known I couldn't get my usual insurance on it. AAA only allows me to get Liability insurance which means if it gets stolen or totalled in a wreck I won't get a dime from insurance.

I dont see a problem with liability only...but I have only 1 vehicle with full coverage and that is my commuter car. Tim

Here in Oregon (where all vehicles are pretty much rust free), you WILL pay 17k or more for a clean TJ Rubicon. I sold my last one for 21k (3 years ago) in a week.

Anything with the Wrangler name on it up here will fetch a pretty penny and then some!
Whenever I decide to sell mine I'll cut you in if I can bring it to Oregon haha

I don't think it's too terrible down here in Texas. My manual 2000 TJ 4.0 Sport was in perfect working condition, single owner, everything down to the oil changes were documented, came with hard and soft top, 31" tires (no lift), clean interior, rust free (it spent it's whole life in Arizona short of the three months before it got to Texas), seats in good condition, some after-market speakers, no bad vehicle history (no wrecks, nothing) etc. basically it was immaculate at the 86,000 miles it had (I think that's what it was) and I paid $11,500 out the door at a dealership.

The guy knew what he had too, as he was on no shortage of TJs. I tried to haggle with him and he shut me down right away. I couldn't argue, I thought it was a fair price after all but you got to see what you maybe can get!

My LJR has a salvage title and I recently sold a TJ with a salvage title. The buyers vary but in general a Jeep buyer is less deterred with a salvage title than buyers of another type of vehicle.

I think anyone would prefer a clean title but if I could be assured my insurance would fully cover it (and not for a ridiculous cost) and that the frame was good I don't think I'd care otherwise as long as it all worked.

Insurance is no issue, full coverage but only up to the amount paid or I can also pay for stated value based on my upgrades. Mine is frame damage, slightly bent upward left front bumper mount (3/4"). I wheel it much harder than I would if it wasn't already bent. For me I own a Jeep for the fun of wheeling. Having one that I don't need to be as careful with makes my fun even better so it works for me. The kids who say "oooh, cool Jeep" when I take my kids to get ice cream don't know it's salvage either ;)

Not following how this gives you the equipment list. It’s a FAQ page that tells you how but doesn’t show you like the other website used to.

The more of those Salvage Jeeps I see the sadder I get.....I live in the biggest city in New Zealand and Im lucky if I see 3 Jeep TJs in a year in a wreckers yard!!
As a trail Jeep I can see you get allot of bang for you buck.

It changed a tiny bit. But once you get passed "vehicle info". I believe there are 4 questions. Click on the one about equipment list. Then on next page find "equipment list" in the sentence and highlight that then add your vin. Hope this helps

This might be a nice way to get a nice rust free tub and frame at a less than price. Of course, I need to factor shipping in. Maybe I should try to buy a salvage JKR Hard Rock for 10K from Arizona and fix it up.

Get 2 tubs and make a trailer like 'Franken-trailer' built by another member on here.
