Some of these redesigns, wants, dreams are simply that, dreams. I am not an engineer, take my changes with a grain of salt. But please critic my list.
The factory Hellcat Dodges have factory options/specs that I would have never guessed would come from a factory auto manufacturer. Because the hellcats are designed by actual automotive engineers working together, they work.
Modern all aluminum straight 6, maintains the big tq numbers from straight 6's and ups the HP with modern engine tech/design.
OR
Modern straight 6 with a turbo. For the EPA folks.
Or
Something similar to the first gen Chevy Colorado; A small 5.3 V8. This would likely fix any lack of power when mated with an overdrive transmission. The overdrive trans would also allow great gas milage not seen in the early 2000 trucks/suv's with V8's.
ECM and TCM no longer locked down.
TCM is separate from the ECM.
Electric fan setup from the factory on the new straight 6. Similar to the late model 2.4L TJ's that come from the factory with an electric fan setup that works without issue.
A 6 speed or even 8 speed auto trans option.
Remote automatic trans cooler, completely separate from inside the radiator.
Gear driven transfer case, redesigned Dana 300. Their weakest point is the case itself, redesign the case with modern metal tech/webbing. The redesigned Dana gear driven case would allow for a longer driveshaft from the factory since it is so small and simple. however, that extra room might be taken up by a better designed trans.
EDIT: All that...and Advanced Adapters makes this...its called an Atlas.
OR
NP241OR with a rubicrawler style under drive.
Cable shifters.
I believe the biggest issue with the gear driven cases is noise, seeing what people complain about here, make it an option for buyers.
Factory trans tunnel is raised supporting a flat skid.
I don't like the TJ/LJ body lines when high lined, the front end just looks off. This could likely be fixed with a taller hood and cowl if high lined like the JK's and JL's from design.
Freedom style hard top similar to the JK/JL Wranglers.
LED headlights. To move the turn signals from the fenders or leave them in the fenders?....I'm on the fence on that one.
Factory harness to support adding things like lights, a winch, on board air, E lockers, etc. with an added area on the dash for choice in buttons, similar to the JL.
Redesigned gas tank which support a longer wheel base via rear axle stretch. Shooting for 101-105 on the TJ. Get the rear tires closer to the back of the tub. Something similar to what gen-right has accomplished with their tanks.
Push the frame bend back to support the axle stretch up travel.
Recaro Expert M driver and passenger seats.
Push the rear seat back in the TJ and LJ, making more leg room for rear passengers.
Thick tubed high pinion 44 front, new generation of course with the 8.9 inch ring gear and one ton sized pinion. with balljoints...
(Dana 44 Option on all trim levels.)
Front outer knuckles with big unit bearings (Spidertrax unit bearings have a heck of a reputation)
External lockouts from Warn, Yukon, or Dana. Preferably Dana since they know their shit. (standard on the Dana 44 Option)
Thick tubed high pinion 44 rear, new gen with dual big bearing pinion (google Rockjock 44) (Option on all trim levels.)
Big brake front and 17's from the factory to support caliper clearance. (Comes standard with the Dana 44 option)
Air lockers, independent front and rear. (Option on all trim levels with Dana 44 option)
No longer will front driver and passenger windows be electric. Manual windows with cranks on all models.
Better speakers in the dash, sub remains in the center console with easy upgrade amp.
Radio is touchscreen with Bluetooth and wi-fi.
Rear tailgate is stamped with "jeep," a throwback to the previous generation of Jeeps. Tailgate maintains a swing out type operation.
Rear tire carrier with Summit Machine style hinge. Carrier arms are upgradable/swappable for bigger tires.
Gas fill relocates to rear of tub similar to YJ, it lives behind the fold down license plate.
Roll cage continues down the interior a pillars and through and behind the dash.
Mechanical air duct flaps. No more vacuum actuated blend doors.
Rear shocks are out boarded similar to the front TJ shocks.
eye ring shock mounts, front and rear. rear shocks are frame mounted similar to YJ's and the front TJ shocks. Eliminating body mounted shocks in the rear.
Half doors are standard on all models, full doors are optional. However, you get both if you option the full doors.
Sailcloth Bestop is an option from the factory.
Spice/Camel interior is back on any color.
Any exterior color from 97-2006 is optional.
