If you had $500 to upgrade your Jeep

Warn m8000 is the most resounding recommendation you will get here

Also if you get a winch don’t forget to budget for things like winching gloves, tree strap, soft shackles, etc. so you you can use the winch

Can you do your own installs? You have to factor that into your price too. But I would start with a winch and like Starkey said some accessories too. Good leather gloves, tree strap, shackles and a snatchblock. Shittybilt makes a decent winch plate that you can use with the factory bumper.

Installs isint a concern, I’ve done some pretty serious wrenching, so there’s nothing on that list that I’d need to hire out.

Right now I’m kinda stuck between the waran VR8 for 399
Or the
Engo SR for 299

Leaving towards the vr8, might sell my old side steps or something.

An XRC 9.5K is better than those options. Better sealed to the elements and new. The Gen2 and H20 series are high quality. $400 is a deal for an M8000, it's not for those used winchs at all.

My bad, those are new. I’ll go look into the XRC9.5. I also saw a 9.5ti for 450 on here, and a few XD9000i’s near me for about 400-450. But there missing stuff and I have a hard time paying 450 for a used winch that’s missing things when I can pay 400 for a brand new warn.

If you're gonna buy new keep an eye on 4wheel parts they have tax free weekend sales which will save you some money. Or quadratec will give you about 5% off if you PM them on the forum
