Interior trim dye / paint?

I picked up a set of half doors, but the interior trim does not match my interior. Has anyone used an interior dye/paint, and have any recommendations to match Mist Grey?

you know, I was just looking at my half doors driving home and they are gray, but the dash and trim is black. I was thinking how paint would hold up also, not sure I would do it as the seats are gray so it kind of matches that.

From what I hear, if you get a good interior trim paint and lightly and the surfaces to be painted (very lightly), I hear it will hold up for years and years, assuming it isn't a high wear area.

On the passenger side in my case since the wife and kids like to push the door open with their feet

I have used it in the past with great results. Prep is key as with any type of painting.

No, but I actually haven't looked yet. I need to do that now that I have the Jeep back!

I repainted all the interior trim in my 01, including the dash. I went to Finishmasters ( a supply outfit in Fl). They mixed Dupont catalyzed marine paint to match. I stripped out the interior and had a local guy spray it after I prepped. Perfect match, can't even tell its paint, and it very durable.

I tried Khaki colored MOPAR interior paint on a set of mist gray half door panels . I kept wondering what these flakes were stuck to my arm. Then I noticed the mist gray spots on the top of my Khaki door panels. I figured it was MOPAR it would work . I just watched eBay for the correct colored panels and cured that issue

Glad I found this thread, every jeep I've had has the tan interior and honestly I can't stand it anymore lol. Once the weather breaks I'm going to try to paint mine

No, it is on the hand rest window towards the end elbow corner. The lower part never have to be touched rather that your shoes hitting it coming out.

Did my dash (Top half above the glove box ) and speedo surround in black and got a colour match on the centre consul trim piece about 2 years ago and apart from the occasion touch up it holding up well....I think I used Krylon.

I used this stuff on my doors a couple years ago. They were very sun faded. Cleaned them first with a degreaser I already had. 2 years later and it still looks new. No cracking, peeling or flaking. I would definitely recommend it. I probably got it on amazon but I can’t guarantee it.

I just painted mine from tan to black. Prep is definitely the key. I used a powered chemical you add to hot water to wash the parts. Its call trisodium phosphate (TSP) . Then after drying overnight, sprayed all with a good coat of SEM plastic adhesion promoter. Once that was good and dry, I used SEM color coat paint. It comes in all the standard interior colors and have had no problems with it. I got it all from Amazon. I used I can of promoter and 2 cans of paint to do the whole thing.
