I need to replace my intermediate steering shafts on my 98 tj, can anyone recommend a brand to go with ? I have never heard of replacing this before so I don’t no who to ask. Someone said to weld it but that seems dangerous if in a accident . I see crown has one not to bad priced or I seen a Borgeson one that was heavy duty and quite pricey . Does anyone have any input on which to buy, thanks for the help !

Borgeson is the only one I've ever seen recommended or recommended myself.

What or who leads you to believe it needs replaced? Ive only ever seen borgenson recommended but I have absolutely no experience with it.

OEM lasted 20 years. Why not go another 20 years with another OEM part?

My steering wheel has about a half turn in wheel before it responds I just put all new spicer ball joints Currie curectlync and wheel bearings and axle u joints to still find play and seen that the intermediate shaft is where my play is at. I can only find crown or Borgeson but the Borgeson says heavy duty but also twice the price, I kinda wanted a few more opinions before I replaced the upper and lower shafts

These are the correct OEM part numbers for my '05:

MOPAR 55315014AD
MOPAR 55315044AA

May not be correct for your '98
