Is my gas tank splitting?

Not sure if I should be concerned? Took Jeep to muffler shop to fix exhaust. Chopped off the end of the exhaust after installing metal cloak rear track bar. Exhaust had been pointing at gas tank and skid plate for maybe 3 days worth of driving. This is the side it was pointing at. Should I start looking into a new gas tank?

It sure looks like you need a replacement. I wouldn’t trust that tank if it were mine…

It may be fine. It may not be. But I know a used tank is about the same as loosing a tank of fuel these days. Lol

Second pic really shows the spread in the seam as it goes to the right. I am not sure what I am seeing but agree looks suspicious

I had one like that. It had been hit with something....wheeling, I guess. I found a used one like new with metal cage and all for $100. Nice now.
