Is there any way to avoid buying a new driveshaft for my Dana 44 axle swap?

Just picked up a Dana 44 and Dana 30 to swap out on my TJ that currently has a Dana 35 rear. Reading that the pinion on the 44 is longer than the 35.

I'm about to do a v8 swap and don't want to buy a brand new shaft that I'll only use for three months. Any other options/advice?

As Kid suggested above if you're going to be doing a V-8 swap soon then wait to install these new axles until you do the V-8 swap.
What are you swapping into your TJ? Dodge or Chevy V-8?

5.3L Chevy w/ 4l60 that will be on a 3" lift with 33x10.5 tires.

Unfortunately both rear/front diffs are trashed so that's not an option. I'll just stay celibate for the next three months I guess. lol

Swapped a Dana 44 rear on my TJ and the driveshaft from having the original 35 was fine, also added a small lift at the same time so that may be a difference if yours is bottoming out.
