Is this a stock Rubicon transfer case shift linkage?

The Jeep has 4 inch plus lift on it so I was expecting a choppy transfer case shifter and was going with a Savvy cable linkage but it is pretty smooth.

I would love the Savvy linkage and I'm sure it's a worthwhile upgrade. Like you my stock linkage works pretty good so replacing it is down low on the list of mods. If you want to replace it then I'm sure you won't be disappointed. If you are content with the stock linkage I would spend the $ on more useful mods.

The stock linkage works decent if you don't have any body lift. Once you change the relationship of the body to the Tcase, that is when you have issues.

Makes perfect sense. I was planning on a body lift so I will get the Savvy cable shifter kit when I order the BL.

With a 1.25" body lift I noticed a little extra resistance, but didn't have any issues shifting.

I still went ahead and installed the cable shifter, and it is far better than stock. It now takes about as much effort to shift as a manual transmission with the engine off. It is a significant improvement.

For sure, it can work. It can also pop out of low easy. The cable shifter is just an all around better solution, IMHO.

I have a 1” bl. Mine would slip out of lo. I adjusted it but it still did it. So, I invested in the Savvy cable. So far, I’m happy. It didn’t take long to do. I removed the old the night before. I didn’t remove my skid or drive shaft and it was a non event. Having that spring loaded ball connection on one end is great. I put all the adjustments about center. Then after everything was real close, I adjusted the ball end until it slipped on with no resistance. Crazy easy.

The Savvy cable is a better all around solution, it eliminates the effect of the changing body, frame and engine flex relationship.

After putting on a savvy shifter when I put on my 1.25 (savvy as well) Body lift, I’m certain if I ever got another Jeep, it would be one of my first changes even without any lifts. That’s how smooth it is.

Side note - I didn’t notice any significant changes to stock shifter after lift installed.
