Issue with LED lights and DRL / high beam

Hoping to gather some knowledge from everyone is possible on an odd issue I am having.
So I have a 2000 Jeep TJ and bought in Canada so I have Daytime running lightoption within standard headlight. Might be worth mentioning that for my DRLs they don’t switch on until Jeep starts moving. Anyways I Bought Xprite led headlights with DRL and have installed them. I did run the fuse tap to fuse panel within engine block areas for the DRLs as I have seen on a few install sites.
anyways when start the Jeep the halo ring come on, but as soon as I move around 5 ft they jump to high beam and stay there. When I do turn lights on they switch to standard low beam but would be nice to operate the daytime running lights as intended and not have to turn lights on at all times to prevent blindness for fellow drivers. Anyone run into this and if so what solution did you come up with? I have seen some solutions for newer jeeps but not 23 year olds.
Would a CANbus resistor or something solve the issue?
I had a friend recommend the Can bus in the attached photos but don’t know if that would work?

Do you have a drl control box mounted on the firewall just to the left of the brake Booster?

Not sure if 2000 have it but it's there on my 06 rubi.

If so then snip the pink wire with light green stripe going into it and no more drls.

I would just bypass the DRL module and run a tap to the new DRL wire directly from an ignition "ON" circuit. The DRLs will then come on when the engine is started instead of when you start moving. Mine didn't have factory DRLs and a previous owner bought lights with DRLs and tapped into an unused relay socket n the PDC that was hot only with the engine running, then added an inline fuse but you could also just find a fuse that powers up with the engine and install an add-a-fuse to the DRLs.

edit: looking at your headlights again they probably don't have an extra wire for the DRLs so my idea probably won't work, sorry. Can you contact the manufacturer for tech support?

One thing I know that you DON'T have is a canbus system. The TJ doesn't have it.

So I did exactly that and they do come on as halo once I turn ignition on, but then flip to halo once I start moving where they used to turn on. Might try the wire snip since they do turn on once vehicle starts, so you would think that would solve it. I think with info from both you and WudzRydr I might have solution! Thanks

Awesome! So I am not very good at electrical so will have a look and May have some questions. Anything I need to do to the snipped wire?

So I was able to locate ( thanks to your help) and have taken a few photos here. I am a little unsure of which wire as I see a green and white and maybe a pink and white? Admittedly I am more a constuction DIY than Auto or electrical so don’t want to mess it up any further advice would be greatly appreciated.

So I think I found the wire! I am assuming the on me on my index finger correct?

Before you cut the wire and ruin the connector try just unplugging the DRL connector. I had issues with my headlights staying on even after shutting off the engine and key out of the ignition.Unplugged the DRL connector and all works properly, except no DRL's now. Something in the DRL was messing up. You say the kit you bought comes with DRL so perhaps disabling the existing DRL and following the kit's DRL instructions will get you what you want.

So I cut wire and tested and it worked! Thanks for everyone’s help and input, this site is awesome.
Now halo comes on when car started and went for a ride and didn’t kick into high at all.

I did try without booking up DRL to begin with but then when I started driving it would click on high beams. So I think this was only solution and worked so super happy!

Sorry Trevor, was busy all day and just got back to this. Glad you were able to figure it out and it worked out for you.

For anyone searching this topic:

The pink wire apparently tells the module that the engine is running so the drls will turn on once you move.

There's no detrimental effect. Mines been cut for over 4 years now. Just seal the cut wires and you are good. I also use halos wired to accessory as drl.

Unplugging the Connector completely also disables the high beam indicator light in the cluster.

This is only a problem for our Canadian jeeps. Lmao.
