Jeep Green LJ Rubicon build (gonna be slow)

Still envious of your paint color.

Those LJ Rubi rockers, are you aware of a source for them? I just pulled the step bars off my LJ and I like the way it looks better without, but I'm thinking those rockers would finish it off some and give a little strength to the pinchwelded rocker flange (or whatever Chrysler called it).

I don’t know of a source for them. Would imagine the used market is the only place for them.
the paint looks good under there. I was waiting on savvy for a bit too and then went with genright aluminum boat sides.

Yeah I was worried what I was going to find under them, but was pleasantly surprised once I got them off. I’m going to keep holding out for savvy, I already told my wife that if they come back in stock I’m spending the money on them.

How bad are yours and what do you plan to do with them if you get the Savvy parts?

Mine aren’t bad, paint was starting to flake off though. I’m going to get them sandblasted and powder coated this week or next. If savvy’s come available I’d be down to sell these

Out with the old and in with the new!

It's amazing how well the steering feels now with the currectlync setup. I do need to get some small diameter bolts for the tie rod clamps so I can rotate them out of the way. Currently have the toe in set at 3/16" because of the clamp near the draglink.

Well, I just ordered Currie track bars for the front and rear from Summit Racing. Should have them by the weekend to install. The wife will be out of town, so I shouldn't have any distractions!

Not much is left on my want list, currie springs and either anti-rock or swaylock and then some savvy items if they ever come back in stock.

Got the Currie track bars installed over the weekend, adjusted my toe in alignment, washed and waxed the jeep one last time before the cold weather gets here. Currie track bars were a major improvement and cleared up some looseness I was feeling.

Been awhile, but some updates are coming. Met up with @Irun yesterday and picked up his JL 392 beadlock capable wheels with 35’s. So finally making the step up from 33’s. @Irun is a heck of guy and we stood around bullshitting about jeeps for awhile, couldn’t be more grateful that he decided to let these go. On the way are adaptors and lug nuts. Also ordered is the Savvy 241 cable shifter and should be ordering @mrblaine 1.25” body lift later today. In the near future I will also be replacing my 3.5” springs for some rockjock 3” springs as well.

Also purchased @Fluxor rear tail gate hinges and tire carrier setup. And will be ordering his rear bumper next and then his rockers and corner armor after that.

Will update with pictures once the 35’s are on.

You should probably help offset the costs involved with those wheels, tires and other bits by selling me your trailer... :sneaky:

Just trying to help where I can.

pumped to see more progress on this beast! The wheels look perfect.

Yeah I'm pumped as well haha Wish i could do everything all at once, but time is limited.

I actually use the trailer a good bit, anytime we take a trip and use the LJ it's what hauls all of our stuff since our german shepherd gets the whole back of the jeep.

Well the 35’s are on! A little cramped for now, but the rest is in progress. Savvy 241 cable shifter is here and the @mrblaine body lift should be here tomorrow. Plans keep getting added though. Going to add a tummy tuck to the list, but probably will go UCF and not savvy for simplicity (this plan may change though).

Looks great!

Just a word to the wise...There isn't anything any more simple about the UCF tummy tuck other than maybe the ordering ability. I have the UCF and wish I'd have gone with a Savvy. The work to install is the same...

Just to update my build thread from the separate thread I created. The one pre cat started rattling a week before taking the LJ on a road trip. Figured I needed to replace it immediately because didn't want to run into issues on vacation. Had a Magnaflow HM setup overnighted and installed it this past weekend with the third cat as well. Install was a breeze surprisingly and had no issues. Below are some photos from the install. Already have 40-50 miles on it since and everything is good, jeep even runs a little better I think.

This socket made it simple to remove the 4 bolts at the pre cats. I wasn't able to use to install the new Magnaflow setup though. The pre cats were a little bigger in size. A 15mm ratcheting wrench made the install just as simple though.

Replaced the 2 O2 sensors after the pre cats because I wasn't able to get 1 of the old sensor out.

Great call on the socket. That style can sometimes interfere with the flange, so I've also had to use a regular socket with a wobble extension. (Options for future readers ;) )

Great! Call on the MagnaFlow because I've gone through so many of the generics and I also just recently put in a magnaflow hoping it will last. It ain't cheap so helping it lasts longer than 20-30k miles I got out of the generic.
