Jeep Leveling Opinions

If you can get away with spacers without bind then you'll be fine. If you want new springs then get them and you‘ll be fine.
Sounds good. I have the spacers so I’ll throw them in and go from there.

If I ever have the Jeep out-boarded and front extended, I’ll just throw 5” springs in at that time (assuming the rear has not sagged by then).

If the rear does sag, then I’ll pull the spacers.

I just installed a 4” Currie lift as well and had about an inch or so of rake. Visually the rake drove me nuts. I bought some .75” spaces off amazon and it is much better.
Nice!

The TF poly spacers provide 1.25” of lift when the isolators are left in as I plan.

I’ll let you know how the visual appearance looks. Great to know the .75” route looks good.

How's the rake when you add a couple people and some gear in the back? Don't want to end up doing a carolina squat when you're actually driving it.

Yes, I know what you mean.

When I’m parked ass up at an incline it looks really bad.

Yet, if I swap my vehicle’s direction it looks correct. This is why I ultimately went with the 1.25” since I couldn’t find a 1” option.

I’ll let you know if the 1.25” looks good (or if I overcorrected).

I ride solo with my border collie / toy aussie mix. Bench is staying in for her enjoyment (so no toolbox). I have tools in the hatch and a spare 35 on it now. I drive it all over ass up as is.

In all, I’d be fine with a California lean one week out of the year (from people and gear, which is unlikely to happen) and level the rest of the year.

Is the California lean something different than the Detroit lean?

Well...I unbolted the shock, Antirock, and Traction bar. The spring still wouldn't unseat very much so I then unbolted an end of my front lower control arm.

After pulling the bolt to the CA, I decided that this was not worth the effort for spacers. I thought I would be able to get a spacer in without dropping the CA (I was very wrong).

If I'm going to the effort of dropping control arms to get each spring out, then I'm installing springs. That's that. I bolted it all back up (torqued to spec). It was a good exercise, and I'm clearly sick in the head because I'm not even upset. I'm content with my decision.

It’s just as much work to change springs as it is to add a spacer.

Im surprised the 4” RockJock springs are giving 5” in the rear with your rear seat and 35” spare. I only get 4.25” with no spare and no hardtop.

Spring compressors make the job easy, they are free to rent from most auto parts stores. I know some people are scared of them but like any tool they can be used safely if you pay attention. Most of them even have locks on both ends now and you just tighten them a small bit to get the extra room you need.

I’ve used them in the past, but prefer not to use them.

I learned a lesson regarding how long these springs stretch and will rent them from oreillys when I go to the 5”.

Indeed it is. Didn’t realize that (being a Jeep newb). Luckily, it’s not too difficult or time consuming.

I was surprised by that as well. They measure at a solid 13” which is 5”. If I didn’t like the extra lift for playing in the rocks, I’d go with different springs to lower the rear.

Given the degree of rake the springs resulted in are you able to exchange the rear 4” for replacement 5”?

I didn’t directly ask if I could exchange the 4” fronts for 5” fronts, so I can’t say for sure.

My understanding is that each jeep tends to react a tad differently to mods depending on our setups. However, I was surprised by the rear being so high.

I’ll talk with the rep (super nice guy) again on Monday.

A little rake is no sin-allows travel for passengers/cargo.
I agree with this, but my situation is a little bit different.

I mostly drive without additional cargo and I don't have rear passengers.

Also, I consider a "little rake" as less than one inch. I'm a solid inch lower up front, and it looks silly.

It sounded like that. Fairly level looks really good.

Yes, sir. I don't need them to be within 1/4" inch (typically not detectable by the eye) or need them to perfectly match.

However, I don't want the rake popping out at me as it does.
