2000lb tow rating vs 4000lb boat. What could go wrong?

20" wheels and low profile tires weren't the best choice.
Of course that had almost nothing to do with the disaster but it pretty much sums up the mindset of the owner.

FFS are those 20" rims?
I think he tried pull forward, ramp is too slippery.

Wish i had the empathy of the video guy. He genuinely seemed concerned.

i wonder if he knows his jeep has 4wd ? probably doesn't know how to use it !
Pretty obvious he was in 2wd. 0:59 he lets off on the brake and it rolls back meaning the front wheels still had good traction. If somebody else would have disconnected the boat and he had it in 4wd he would have drove right out. Hindsight right?
That seems pretty avoidable. Sure the TJ isn't a great tow vehicle, but it seems like they don't know how to launch a boat either.
I always put my truck in 4wd and apply the park brake. I’ve seen to many 1/2 tons slide in with big boats just in park. 4wd in park with parking brake pretty much locks all 4 wheels.
They could have saved the Jeep, had the woman not gotten in the boat and used it to pull the Jeep in. The first time they stopped, he was getting out of the Jeep to disconnect the boat and she went in reverse before that happened... The boat pulled the rest of the rig into the water.
