Oh okay not a terrible list. Are you using the baofeng crap or something else? It was really easy to program using that if you are took like 5 minutes... just don't try it on a linux machine it's a pain to get installed lol.
Can you get a new bumper in time if you do decide to change it?
I'd doubt it's accessible that high up yet - but could probably play around at the bottom for a bit.
Its a fun play area, you'd quickly find any shortcomings. But thats your goal!

I have ruggeds and Dino helped me program the hand helds last year so they are good to go but my rugged that's vehicle mounted is what I haven't figured out and the manual they have is useless.
Can't get a savvy or I would have so I'm gonna buy a cheap one off Amazon for the trip and I'll test it out. Unless I can't fit my stuff in the tub with the tire then I'll run it all as normal.

Well if it takes the same connector as the Baofeng I can program them for you when I show up if you need. I need my laptop for school and will be bringing the cable for anyone that needs. I'm no guru like Dino but I can plug and flash lol

You might try the gulches, Hackett, Longwater and Metberry. Not sure how much snow would still be on the trails, though.
I kept reading they were going to close the gulches, whatever happened to that? I haven't been down there yet
Its been a minute since I last saw an update but the only closure I am aware of that was dutifully enforced was during the Hayman Fire. As far as I know, motorized use is still allowed, though there are commissioners who are actively trying to close it along with the Forest Service.

For what it's worth Bill Moore Lake was still heavily snowed in. We barely got an hour of wheeling in up + down
