Leaf blower interior cleaning

Anyone use a leaf blower to de-scunge the interior of thier TJ after a run in the woods?

I always seem to collect a ton of pine needles, spent brass from policing up other people's brass, bits of plastic and other general crud that collects in the nooks and crannies. It's time consuming to vacuum it all out. Plus, you never seem to get it all. So pulling the carpet and going after the interior with the top off seems like an easier way to eliminate unsightly build up.

I've never done that, but I have used one after washing my vehicles to help dry it if I've needed to drive it shortly after. It helps a lot with water trapped in hidden places like mirror housings that pour out when you start driving.

Not sure if you're serious, or if this is a sort of tongue-in-cheek post, but my take on leaf blowers and blasting stuff with air hoses is this: All that crap has to go somewhere, and some of it will go where you least want it to be. You're just displacing it. So no, no leaf blowers for me.

Nope, serious as a heart attack. Hadn't thought of all that crud going where it doesn't belong, but then again, it already does just driving around with the top down and the doors off. Hmmm, something to think about there.

My Jeep, yes, A couple of times after running in the desert dust with the top off. I try to blow it from the front out the back. Away from the dash.
The bed of my pickup, yes.
The inside of my shop after an involved woodworking project, you bet.
I have a dust collector and a duct system and I’m still always surprised by what I blow out the garage door.

When I first started reading Squatch's reply I was thinking about pushing dust into places like your seats, speakers and dashboard switches and stuff. As long as that stuff ends up in the neighbor's yard it shouldn't be a problem.

An air hose would probably do more bad to the TJ than a leaf blower.

I bought a Wet+Dry vac for this problem. I've got no carpet, so with all the drain plugs out I gently hose all the crud, dirt, leaves etc out and then vacuum up all the nooks and crannies.

It's unbelievable satisfying. Never had the jeep cleaner than the day I got the vac

Yup, I have a cordless milwaukee M18 leaf blower that works great. A little tough to get the debris to go where you want but it's a good start for a deeper cleaning.

Not the interior but always the exterior since i'm using one on the yard at the time anyway. good job of getting the pine needles off.

I do it all the time with a 36V dual battery Makita and it's awesome! I ditched all the carpeting out of my Sahara a couple of years ago, so now I just open the doors and the back, and let'r rip! If it's really dirty, I'll pull the drain plugs, hose it all out with water, then dry it out with the Makita. I wish I could do this with all our vehicles but my wife would lose it if I tried that with her Cadillac... lol

Have done it many times after hunting or wheelin trips. I do not do the dash directly, however.

I usually just lose the doors and top and let nature do its thing down the motorway

We always have shop air at work, so I'll take a blow gun and a microfiber towel and take care on the dash and doors. I'll vacuum the floor first so I'm not just blowing shit all around and hit the seats and roll bars with air with doors open and top down. It's just a prelim for me. a damp microfiber towel afterwards and a wash if I'm feeling industrious.
