I have a 5 pin relay. The EP26 has only four.
The EP26 will still allow most of the functionality but will change some of the operating characteristics in the later year TJs. For example, the turn signals will operate even with no keys in. Better to use the correct flasher for the year.Doesn’t matter it will still work.

You can confirm the LM470 part number by looking up the flasher relay on RockAuto or various auto parts store websitesI have a 5 pin relay. The EP26 has only four.
Correct on the EP26. 01-06 should use the LM470 flasher. There seemed to be a lot of confusion on this thread.
So the EP26 is 97-00 and the EP 27 is 01-06?
I have a 1997 and Just put in the EP26. Seems to be working fine.
Is that the same as the this one? https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/led-flasher-relay.11733/#post-185489I don't know the pin count on my 05, but I used the one in that link I posted above and it works fine in my 05. Read the reviews, you'll see other people saying they used it and it worked just fine in their 06 TJ.
Either way, that's the same one I bought and it works for me.

The Novita LM470 is the correct flasher for 01-06 TJs. It can be found at most auto parts stores. It will prevent hyperflash and allow the hazards to work with no key but turn signals will require a key in the ignition, just like stock. The LM470 is 5 pin. The EP26/EP27 can also be used but they won't function the same as stock
So I just snagged an EP27, fixed hyper flashing when using my turn signals, but super hyper flashes for my hazards. Guessing this is what you are getting at by they won’t function the same as stock?
That’s how mine always were. They functioned but they were always a bit quicker than factory.
Interesting. I swapped back in the factory relay and I noticed as I drove to work this morning that the speed of the blinker flash varied. One turn it would be faster than the OEM lights, but the next it would be the same speed, as if it was naturally fluctuating.
As of now the OEM relay works for hazards/blinkers, whereas the EP27 made me lose hazard functionality.
I’m going to buy the novita lm470 later and see how that works.
On my '98 Sahara,
I am replacing the OEM front fenders with EAG fenders.
EAG uses the Eagle Eye LED for turn signals
and no side marker lamps.
The rear lights will remain OEM incandescent bulbs.
So I want to thank everyone for all of your input
but I would just like to confirm my understanding.
I should get the EP26 like this one:
