Let’s talk snow!

I just finished cleaning up after 20 inches of snowfall here in the great state of Maine. The old TJ did well. Not the easiest thing to plow with because of the worn out clutch and hard shifting but it pushes easy enough. I certainly need to swap out the tires though. Im running a 33”x12.5 and I’m thinking I’ll probably swap with a 31”x10.5 MT with studs. Yeah, yeah...”MTs suck in the snow”. I’ve been plowing since I was 16 and I switched to MTs about 8 years ago. I’ll never go back. You throw studs in them and they are unstoppable.

p.s. My MT tires have always been great in snow with no studs ever needed. Studs are for ice only IMO.

M/T is fine in snow. It's when there is that 2" of icy slushy shit on the road is when they suffer. But for some plow duty they are more than up to the job. And studs are a game changer. Put them on my snow tractor last year and saved me from having to hang chains.

Studded tires for plowing are a game changer. When you’re scrapping down to hard pack, everything is pretty slick. Plus, the TJ doesn’t have a lot of weight to it.
